Bridgewater-Raritan High School Symphony Orchestra performs Finale (4th mvmt) from Sibelius Symphony No.2 in D Major in the 2006 Spring Concert. This was an outstanding performance! The magnificent melody of this great piece was unforgettable! This is part 4 of 4(sorry - had to cut to fit 100Mb) of the 15-min long piece --watch all!

  • don't criticize Mr. Lalumia; he was the best conductor i've worked with and he studied every piece he ever conducted immensely (he didn't go to eastman for nothing)

keep in mind that this is a HIGH SCHOOL orchestra; most schools don't even have orchestras, much less ones with quality and talent(in both conductor and orchestra) like this.

  • That was incredible! I can't believe this is a high school orchestra :)

  • that ending was a bit disappointing because of some of the pitch issues with teh brass... i wish you guys showed a bit mroe emotion while playing this piece.

  • ok smart guy lets see you do it better. Wake up to reality. It's high school and show me another with an orchestra of this quality then start throwing insults at people. This is a great performance for a high school ensemble.

  • I liked this a lot; well done! I've listened to many recordings of all of the Sibelius symphonies - the 4th being one special one indeed - A High School orchestra? Exceptional! This comment btw from someone who lived in Finland for many years and speakes Sibelius' second language rather well:)

  • A great performance of an atmospheric work - it made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up! In a good way! 2007 is the 50th anniversary of Sibelius's death so hopefully more of his work will appear on YouTube. Thanks for posting!

  • Geez. You cut part three and started part four right at the best part. Kinda annoying to have to get the seperate video. Overall, a pretty good performance, though the horns were very pitchy at times, even more so than the video quality can excuse. Your conductor didn't seem to get the point of the piece. It makes me wonder whether or not he even knew how important this piece was for Finland.
