A storm like that in central Florida in March is rare. More typical for June, July and August during the summer thunderstorm season when the sea breezes kick in.

I remember a huge storm hit Lakeland while I was in school. The sky was pitch black even though the time was around 12:00 pm. This was after I had lunch, which at the time looked like regular gray rain clouds. Do you think this happened on the same day?
