Jeff Beck spent some time in studying Cliff Gallup's guitar style, & he said that Cliff's style was anything but straight forward. As real rock & roll disappeared somewhat into the sunset as the '60's moved in, those great '50's guitar riffs went by way of the dodo. No one played guitar like Cliff Gallup. Johnny Meeks came pretty darn close though. Also check out 'The Bluecats' on You Tube. Those guys sound like Vincent & Gallup reincarnated.
