This Canadian chicken farming couple is proud of their farm and they enjoy living in the country.

Transcript:

William -- Well we moved here from Ireland about 12 years ago, but we used to farm in Ireland. We like living in the country. Being our own boss. The flexibility and the country life.

Janet -- I was not raised on a farm. I was raised in town, but I fell in love with a farmer and I really enjoyed our life together and living on the farm. We have three children. They were raised on the farm and they enjoyed farm life. None of them are actually working on the farm, but may do so in later years. We have two granddaughters who are four and one and it's just nice knowing that they can come out here and play, and run around. They've got plenty of room. And our little four year old grand daughter, every time she sees chickens she always says, "Grandpa grew that chicken!"

William -- We had a few trials. Two years ago we had a fire that took down a barn. That was a trying time.

Janet -- And then six weeks later we had a Tornado come through, and I think that barn was definitely doomed to go that summer.

William -- We have a lot of good neighbors who helped us out and six months later we were back in action.

Janet -- We had our new barns built and ready to go again.

William - We feel very confident for the future. We've been chicken farmers now for about eight years. There's definitely a future in chicken farming.
