This was a tough one to do. I always thought these two shows were pretty similar. The opening split-screen effect was done using a matte I created in Paint for the borders. I just stuffed the video sequences in behind that. The circles effect was done with a 16-layer video track and good old built-in transition effects (which I can't time-remap, so they're a bit iffy). The soundtrack was partly taken from the orchestral release of the Buck Rogers OST, and from the South Park episode 'Go God Go XII' which has a re-mastered version of the original TV soundtrack. Finally, everything was given a bit of a camera blur and a 1% opaque video of TV noise was layered over the top to give it that shitty 70s/80s TV effect.
Oh, and then there's my impression of William Conrad which sucks. Enjoy!
Nice job on a difficult opening.

I experimented with doing some of those circles to see how hard it really was.
My sympathies to you, friend.
