M3 Challenge Fifth Place Team, Exemplary Team Prize: $5,000
West Windsor-Plainsboro High School North, Plainsboro, NJ
Paper: $787 Billion: Will the Stimulus Act Stimulate the U.S. Economy?
Coach: John Cornell
Team: Shir Aharon, Chris Bergman, Moya Chin, Tracie Kong, YunHui Lin

Top six teams presented their solution papers to a panel of applied mathematicians in the final round of judging on May 5, 2009 at Moody's Corporation headquarters in Manhattan.

Held on March 7-8, almost 400 student teams from Maine to Washington, D.C. participated in the 2009 Moody's Mega Math Challenge requiring them to evaluate whether the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 would in fact stimulate the economy. The problem called for teams to mathematically assess the elements of the stimulus package that will most likely produce the greatest improvements in employment.
