The shortest distance from A to B is a straight line. Consequently, the three tracks of the correspondend EP meet at the point where elements of the old school mix with state of the art production without sidetracking.
„Let's Talk About Mystery" spotlights the dark side of House-power. Sinan Mercenk trimmed the track with an old-school vibe that would perfectly fit New York godfathers such as Kerry Chandler or DJ Sneak.
„Shadow" marches straight forward to the realms of Electric Boogie Wonderland. On the basis of a funked-up bassline, Sinan Mercenk enmeshes the midtempo groove with a musical theme, that sends Michael Jackson's Billie Jean from Sunset Strip to the alleys of dub house.
Stylistically at ease, the producer does not lose the retro chic flavour with track number three. Mercenk combines a glockenspiel with a detroit techno pad, stressed by a groaning bass-motif. Thus, „Senin" does complete this trio of straight-lined funkyness exquisitely.
