I can remember when my daughter was 3 or 4 yrs old. I used to sit her on my lap and i sang this song to her she would than fall asleep on my lap. she is now 36 yrs old and i still sing it to her..

I cry everytime I hear this song. My mom and I sing this song together when we heaqr it together. I cry because I wonder what I would do if she was gone, just like the song says, I guess remembering will have to do. I love you mommy!!!

My oldest son Joe was very young when this came out. He cried and hung onto me, every time he heard it. As he became older, he and I sang it together both always cried. To this day, I cry when I hear it and other songs, my son and I sang together. On my Facebook page, I put songs on . My son now takes care of me and "It's me and Joe against the world" I have many friends, my "Earthbound Angels" I call them. They help us out! Especially my sweet friend Christina and her hubby Arron.

I was an only child until my mother married my daddy Ray & along with him came a brother & a very special cousin;Becky. We hardly see or talk any more cause have the time she doesn't have a phone but when we do she always brings up this song cause it describes us to a tee!!! I love & miss her very much..Wish I knew how to get ahold of her>>>

So sorry for your loss. My mother use to sing this song to me when I was a small child. I recently heard it and it brought back so many memories for me as well. I am sure your son would have felt the same feelings that I did and I hope you can remember all the great times you shared with him. My mother passed away when I was seventeen at the age of 39 and even though this song brings back song brings back some tough memories as well.

aww this so nice.....my mom used to sing this too me when i was a baby,,,,,and it was very true, my whole family kicked us out and never talked to us..sad huh
