Nika, Laura, and I hiked up Gatbawi mountain, outside of Daegu. It's a common destination for Buddhist pilgrims, and I was amazed by the stamina of those people twice my age. It was steep...with a lot of stairs...a LOT of stairs. At the top, they bow to the Buddha ('Gatbawi" means 'stone hat') and present offerings which can be purchased right in front.
