What irrates me about this video is how misleading it is: sorbent boom is not made for recovery, it is made for containment. The surface area is less, and it has a much lower absorption rate specifcally so that it will not "soak up" all the oil and soit will remain floating...A demo showing hair verses a synthetic menas actually designed for recovery (sorbent pad or roll maybe? Particulate?) would be a much more accurate demonstration...and a much less misleading video.

@booniecat7  This is BP sorbent boom, I checked on purpose. It's a good thing these BP's aren't for containment, would have been far more useless. Oil was sloshing under and over the boom far too easily for it to have any containment value. Containment booms have "skirts" that hang down 18 inches or so. And don't worry too much about nonprofits misleading the public about the benefits of synthetic oil based BP products. BP isn't a poor misunderstood company that needs your sympathy.

even i wanted to donate my hair...and i'm from germany. the problem is, that those who caused the problem (BP) are not those who suffer from it (eco-system, people who live there). making people responsible for something will not solve the problem. solidarity is the key, people!
