The Ava Story, which is only just beginning, is already a triumph of an old Jamaican proverb -Who feels it, knows it. Though she's a devotee of a music made before she was born and a world away, mid-1970s Golden Age reggae, Ava's own breezy, sexy, sensitive spirit makes a much-loved sound fresh, and very much her own. Ava's debut album, "Rollin" is due to drop in September.

Ava recorded Mas Que Nada especially for the Next advert for their summer range which is available now, bundled with her up-coming single 'Mad About The Boy' on iTunes.
Lyrics
Oari rai?
Ob Ob Ob
Mas que nada
Sai da minha frente
Eu quero passar
Pois o samba est animado
O que eu quero sambar
Este samba
Que misto de maracatu
samba de preto velho
Samba de preto tu
Mas que nada
Um samba como esse to legal
Voc no vai querer
Que eu chegue no final

  • i like it. her voice is different. a nice different.

  • This is NOT latino music. This is a one-off, she normally sings "reggae lite". Ava Leigh, real name Hayley is from Chester in England. She has a new song out today, Mad about the boy.Quite good.

  • I'm Brazilian, so, i can talk about this music. This is a classic for us. This music was written by Sergio Mendes, and yes, this a samba music. She makes your version, and tried some portuguese and fail, ok. I keep in love with her thats the true. Come on to Brazil AVA!!!

  • More like soca the reggeaton.

  • Beast

  • КЛАССНО!VERY GOOD!))

  • @ImaniL8 it was originaly a samba song, but she messed it up

  • she tried to take a classic samba song, and turn it into a reggeton, i HATE it

  • [iminent=WAUczlR59l2]

  • @ImaniL8 FULLY correct. That has nothing to do with Reggae. I'd call it Reggaeton with some feel of an undefinable poppy samba-rhumba-merengue-salsa-whatever mixture ;)

  • @geancsl Thanks for this post. :) For me it always "ooooooh-ah-ee-ah-ee-oo" ;) I had no idea this actually was supposed to mean something in Brazilian Portuguese :)
