  • I am scared my OB is going to try and pressure me into a c-section or induce me. Every time I go in for an appt they say to me something to the effect, your baby is going to be too big because my husband is a big guy and I should consider a c-section. The nurse already told me that I won't be allowed to go to 42 weeks. My doctor had me sign a paper saying he is paid by births and that if I get pre-natal care from him and don't do my birth with him then I will be charged extra for all my pre-nata

  • @regina627 Wow, you are in a tough situation. How many weeks are you, how much would you have to pay if you changed? Are you sure what he is saying is true? You could call your insurance company to verify.

It sounds like you are not happy with your care provider, so if you can't change you need to have a heart to heart with him and remember YOU are in charge, it is your baby and your body! Share your concerns that you shared with me and let him know what it is YOU want!

  • @EnjoyBirth I will be 35 weeks on Saturday. Have you ever heard of a doctor being able to do that? The last time I went in and he said to me that I am gaining too much weight and that the baby would be too big I told him I had child bearing hips. I have gained 24 pounds so far this pregnancy. Thank you for making these video's. They have been really helpful, my husband watched them with me. I will call my insurance company and find out if that is true. It is terrible to feel stuck like I do.

  • @regina627 Good luck! Remember YOU are in charge. Gather information and make the best choice for you and your baby, whatever that may be.

  • Everything I read said that risks didn't significantly increase until 43 weeks...

I went into labor on my own (I had no care provider, intentionally) at 42 weeks 3 days and had a perfect unassisted homebirth :)

  • @KaelaCarver Thanks for sharing your experience. Sadly in todays climate it is hard to find a care provider, OB or Midwife who would "allow" a mom to go past 42 weeks. It is sometimes even a challenge to will find one who will "allow" a mom to go to 42 weeks.
