Although I love DragonCon with all my heart and soul and will continue to attend I am forced to concede two things: 1) DCon's getting a little asine in badge prices(granted I pre-reg every year) for whats being offered especially celeb power is not worth the charge since you gotta pay extra for autographs anyway 2) ComicCon is better when it comes to getting star power. Hell they got The Game of Thrones cast. That's going to tough to top. But I still love DragonCon.

Although I love coming to Dragon Con each year to see the guests and party, DCTV is still pretty high on my list to see each year. Keep up the good work, by the way, who did the back ground music?

Hmmmmm, let's see here...Comic Con is an industry expo more than a convention. It shuts down at 9pm and is predominantly based around movies coming out and the toy tie ins that go with those. Dragon Con is a multi-media, fan run convention. We run around the clock. Newbie staff who go on power trips are quickly cut from that staff if staff is told of this. And of course as always, if you can do better, shut your trap and step up to volunteer your time to prove it.

My track has been running for 15+ years now, and at no time have we had staffers give anything less than 250% percent of their time and energy. We've certainly never had any simply not show up. Hell, I have to use Jedi mind tricks just to get them to leave the room long enough to EAT. They don't work for money, they work because they enjoy it and are enthusiastic about their fandom. That's how you know they're the genuine article!

Don't feed the trolls, especially not the stupid ones. The great thing about life is that it's full of choices. If you don't like D*C, then stay away. I'm not going to tell you that your opinion is wrong or based in incorrect data. If our volunteers didn't like doing what they do, they wouldn't keep doing it. If our volunteers weren't doing a good job, they wouldn't be doing it anymore. If the convention wasn't doing things the right way, it wouldn't be growing at the pace that it is.

I love how the con keeps growing, yet people somehow turn it into a evil plot to just steal thier money.
Seems like if everyone doesn't work for free, and do thier job to the troll's satisfaction. Than the entire thing is evil or 'corrupt' in some way.
There might be a couple folks being actually paid to run Dragon*Con, but they should be paid since it is pretty full time job for those few people. We on volenteer staff only 'work' less than a week when you boil it down. Friggin' trolls.

Sure, and has absolutely nothing to do with Ed Kramer and Pat Henry bank account's.

By all means do, i know three or more elite/elder's in techop's that agree with the statement i just made, So by all means let everyone ELSE know.

As a Director of one of the fan tracks, I have to say that my meager staff of 7 all worked well over our hours, and were not only *at* all of our assigned panels and events, we were early, stayed late, and were repeatedly recognized throughout the halls and breezeways by random fans stopping us to say hello, thank you and how they can't wait to come back next year. You really need to work on our side of the show before you try to pass judgment. It's a very difficult, very rewarding experience.

Not at all! It's a song called "Plasma (original mix)" by Redmann. A quick Google search should turn up his page at toucanmusic with all of his music.
This comment has received too many negative votes show
"1,500 volunteers bringing you the best in southern con hospitality" That ones a laugh. Past three years 90% of staff slacked off or didnt even show up for there shift's. Hell there was a fue issues caused this year due to some newbie staff members going on a powertrip. Wile as with comic-con all the staff are paid and do there job as there paycheck depends on it. (And no dragoncon is not non-profit so theres no excuse for not hireing a paid staff)

Well, as a director who spent a lot of time working at this con with my staff and a large portion of the convention staff ... I'd have to strongly disagree.
I could just take the simple approach of deleting your comment, but YouTube has this wonderful 'reply' feature. I'll let the supposedly slacking Dragon*Con staff members know of your feelings. Once they recover from busting their ass for several days, I'm sure they'll have their own thoughts to post.
Be seeing you ...
