Recycling is the biggest con the government have foisted on us in years. Chorley Borough Council waste money hand over fist and present it to us as a community service. The town is dying on its feet, riddled with rats and litter and they waste more money on yet another unneccessary 'service'. There is not one iota of evidence that recycling is helping the environment in any way shape or form and plenty evidence that vested interests are doing very nicely from it thank you. A big no vote

We currently recycle nearly 50 per cent our waste in Chorley. It is good for the environment, saves energy, reduces raw material extraction and helps combat climate change. The amount of landfill space we have available is diminishing rapidly and unless we recycle we'll need more landfill sites or energy from waste plants to deal with the waste we all generate.

If people are aware of places with rats or litter they can be reported to us on 01257 515151 so we can do something about it.

Chorley Borough council have 'enhanced' the environment once again.

Did these bins really have to be a lurid blue? They stick out like a sore thumb in Brinscall where I live. We can read and could have coped with another green or brown bin with a label or a symbol on it. They come a close second to the purple ones in Liverpool.

Neither I nor my next door neighbours actually got one. School Lane looked hideous this morning.Vile blue plastic bins littering the view.

Does anyone agree with me?

We've chosen blue because it is traditionally the colour for dry recyclables. We showed the bin to people when we were consulting on the plans to introduce a third wheelie bin. Some people love the colour but we appreciate not everyone will like it.

Why cant people just leave all there refuse in 1 bin i dont recycle and i never will. This council is a joke.

Recycling is very important to conserve raw materials and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Lancashire is very short of landfill space and if we dont recycle we will have to find new landfill sites.

Thanks to Chorley residents we now recycle almost half of all our waste, which is brilliant. We hope the blue bins will encourage people to recycle even more.

It is not good for the environment, there is no credible evidence that it has any effect on the climate. Go back to ONE bin emptied weekly and stop ripping us off. As for rats take a walk around Chorley any night when it's dark!

Me again.

I still have no blue bin yet despite the fact that I phoned to report it over two weeks ago.

I put my waste out in the green box, and its still sitting there un noticed.

went into Chorley to pay my credit card today, on my way to the bank I went to the offices to ask for a blue bin,and had to sit waiting for 20 minutes before I was seen so I missed the bank.
