@SenileLeopard Thank you for your question. The performer series begins at a much lower resistance with an emphasis on technique and stamina over strength. The highest resistance of the Performer Series compares to the 2nd level of the Sports & Fitness Series (the yellow BreatheAir). If you are only interested in building strength then you may want to look at the Sports & Fitness series. Please let us know if you have more questions, we are glad to help. 1-800-883-0368

I am a semi-professional clarinetist, and I am looking to improve my lung capacity and air support control--I know PowerLung makes different devices for athletes and musicians, but what specifically is the difference between them? Do the athletic models have a higher resistance, or...? I am just trying to find out which model will give me maximum results.

@MrBobby13531 Thanks for your question. There's actually 2 options. (1) For Beginners - It is suggested that you conduct your breathing exercises before starting your workout. (2) For Intermediate Users - You can do your breathing exercise between reps. Example: Conduct 1 complete set of reps. using your PowerLung both inhale and exhale. Then, conduct 1 complete set of reps. of your exercise of choice. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Do you breathe in it while doing your workout or only before for a certain period of time?
