Obese woman leaks fluid from her legs

Bickel, 50, says she was asked to leave classrooms this week over concerns of lymphedema in her legs; the condition causes fluid to build up, and on occasion drain out of her legs.

Bickel said her legs have drained fluid at the business school since she started there last September, but she was asked to leave following a drainage incident in a classroom this week.

"They knew about it before I started (classes) last fall," Bickel said of her medical condition. "(If it was problem) they should have said something long before now. It's seven and a half months before they said a word about my legs."

Um thats a major heath safety issue.  If your legs are leaking goo that can carry bacteria, viruses, and I can only imagine the smell. Why doesnt she wrap her legs? If I was a student at this school I would be disgusted if someone was melting on the floor as I was trying to learn, thats a major distraction.

Put pads down, thats gross. Im sorry, I probably will get hate comments from people over this post but come on people this is a MAJOR heath concern to the other students!

That is totally disgusting. And this woman wants to think of it as some kind of human rights issue?! Get real. The other students have a right to be able to learn in a class room thats not filled with the rank odor of some morbidly obese woman's leaking bodily fluids. Uuugh!

I just found out that I have Lymphedema, and it is not bad, only my ankle is swollen, and I plan to keep it under control.

Weight has a big effect on Lymphedema. The more fat in your body, the more fluid you'll take.

This woman needs help if it is leaking fluid, that means her Lymph tissue is out of control, and she needs to maintain it soon.

I agree with rjkerb08. I would find it gross if she came to school leaking fluid and didn't have it wrapped up.

And still talking about obesity is politically incorrect That doesn't mean I think obese people are bad people- I just find it hard to comprehend how they can allow themselves to get to that state- even washing is a problem because skin they can't reach is literally rotting. I do believe mental health issues are a factor.

I find obesity repulsive.

As for this woman, she is selfish and irresponsible. The school has every right to remove her because it is a health issue
