  • HAHAHAHAH they're playing the song "I believe I can fly" in the background!! xD

  • these plays should be allowed, i mean theres not much a goalie can do except either rush, or move up and retreat

rushing is more risky, considering if Gaborik had his head up he could have EASILY scored

  • OMG!!..I can't believe this!!...Throw him outta the game!!...His jersey isn't tied down!! O_O

  • @Case3117 lol @ "Evidence." Nice try.

In any event, they're surprised at the penalty because they'd seen Hasek do this same thing numerous times and never get called on it. The commentators for the Sabres would have been similarly surprised; they no doubt saw it dozens of times during his tenure in Buffalo.

  • @Enstrom39 It's not very difficult to justify a hit that is, by every pertinent rule in the NHL rulebook, 100% legal.

  • @Goronzrus It's perfectly legal for the goalie to do this so long as he gets the puck before he hits the player.

Hasek did this dozens of times throughout his career. This instance simply produced the most spectacular result of them all.

  • This never gets old.

  • @Goronzrus He was caught with his head down. Injuries in the league these days are from players caught with their head down. Plus if you look he extended his wrists so nothing of that nature would happen.

  • Fuckk yea was at this game, I remember saying this is going to be all over the internet/ sportscentre

  • He could have broken his neck. That was a completely dangerous play, not sure why you're trying to defend this. If a defenseman did this there would be no dispute. Can a goalie throw his stick on a break away to stop him too?

  • What exactly is the penalty here? I would love to know the refs excuse.

  • @Case3117 Umadbro? Mickey Redmond is one of the most excited colormen in the game. His sayings and enthusiasm makes the game enjoyable. Sorry you have shit announcers that make you fall asleep.
