IBM Connections vs. Microsoft Sharepoint: Social Personal File Management

As more and more organizations around the world look to principles of "Social Business" to reach the next level of employee effectiveness and productivity, they are necessarily taking a closer look at how it can be that they have been using Microsoft Sharepoint for nearly a decade, and yet truly transformative social collaboration remains elusive. The fact is that while it's widely deployed, Microsoft Sharepoint 2010 is woefully inadequate as a platform to support Social Business initiatives (HR Transformation, Knowledge Management, Enterprise 2.0, etc). Innovation on the internet has fundamentally changed the accepted usage paradigms for the tools we use to share what we know and discover other people and what they know, and Sharepoint has not kept pace. There will not be another opportunity for Microsoft to fix the many problems Sharepoint introduces to such projects until the next major release of Sharepoint in 2014 and the fact is that your Social Business initiatives will likely succeed or fail long before 2014. It's time to move forward and take a serious look at a purpose-built Enterprise Social Business Platform ... IBM Connections.

This comparison shows how MS SharePoint Server is inferior to IBM Connections. I even find the presenter humorous as he clearly demonstrates the differentiating capabilities/functions between the two products. I would have liked demonstrating IBM Connections last instead of first.
