@stp1383 There might be some places on the San Gabriel River in George Town, or even on the Brazos River. I've never done an overnight on those rivers, so it's hard to say with our looking at a detailed satellite map.

I'm interested in a similar trip for myself and a few of my friends, we live about an hour north of the Austin area... Do you know of any others that are fairly local?
