Collision With a Badger

While on a bike ride with my mate, we were speeding down a hill when a badger ran into the road right into the path of his bike, with the speed we were going there was no time to avoid our little (well, quite big) furry friend. Liam was thrown clear of his bike and landed a few yards away from it in a hedge, which broke his fall so he was OK. Can't say the same about the badger though.

Ive hit a badger on a bicycle before now. I was approx 15-16stone at the time, riding a mountain bike with standard 28" wheels. It was like hitting a bag of solid concrete. It fucked up my bike wheel, forks and frame.. not to mention my face and hands and body bruises everywhere. The badger just got on his feet and run away apparently unharmed.

This badger was killed by a car.. and the boys thought they would make a vid of it..

Fair play for attempt, but it a shit attempt.

If you listen to the rider's account of what happened, he clearly states, "I hit his head with my foot". Hitting a badger's head with a bicycle pedal and rider's foot will not damage the bicycle, especially not like you describe the damage to yours. This fatal blow to the skull killed the badger, not a car.

@stalingrad32 it is illegal if you kill one on purpose e.g use your terrier, but you wouldn't be charged for killing one by accident e.g car accident or bike.

Why did you feel the need to put a video on youtube, showing everyone the badger you killed? Not that I'm angry at you if you killed the badger, but nobody wants to see that. Most people will get pissed off at you if they see that you killed the animal... and you decide to show it to the world...?

plus, badgers are like frikkin brick walls... Don't think a skinny little dude on a bike could quite pull that off.

badgers dont come out in the day they are strickly nocturnal. iv seen people run them over with cars (accidently) and they still get back up so you have nt killed tht with your bike pal
