'Mike Pee' (Michel Petrucciani) - jazz piano lesson. Watch this in HD (High Definition)
"Mike Pee" was the nickname given to Michel Petrucciani by Bill Evans on the one time he met him - before the diminutive pianist spoke fluent English! Apparently Bill nick-named him 'Mike P.' saying that his name was too long!
He recorded this at least 3 times - once just before his 19th birthday. The leadsheet I used is based on this version. He recorded it several other times, including one long version that was part of a medley of well known standards.
When I first heard his recording of this, it struck me as very beautiful - with echoes of the French impressionist composers.
I have added perhaps too many comments to read easily while the video plays. You can slow down the video on my DVD http://www.bushgrafts.com/jazz/DVDbuy.htm using Quicktime or Windows Media Player
Thanks for taking the time to post this.... Lovely...

Excellent! Very beautiful and thoughtful. Surprising yet logical transitions and a mood that is soft and sincere.
Hey, what program were you using for the transcription and how did you make the video?
