By request, here's me taking down the final boss in the game, the Lord of the Black Abyss. I start off doing the strategy I'm used to, til I realize my characters can handle something different...

If your wondering, this battle follows a pattern. He spits out mini-eyes, you kill mini-eyes, and the darkness around him fades. You do the most damage when it's completely gone, but it also leaves you open for his eye-beam attack. Also, he'll do a damaging health-drain move if you're too close. He's weak to light damage. Equipping accessories to protect against dark damage helps take a bit of the sting out of his eye beam of death...so does being around lvl 40-50 :P He can be killed in the upper 20s-low 30s as well, he's just a little harder to kill.

  • Hey... this game is for pc too right.? :S

  • @Breey97 Nope, PS2 only.

  • Im currently lvl 36 darc lvl 34 kharg and the rest late 20's , i find this so impossible to do without any light elements to help, any place i can buy or find them in the castle? because i dont want to start all over again lol,

  • @jowlzaahNZ Unfortunately, I don't think you can get them anywhere in the Castle, unless you can steal them off of something (I've never tested this though). I've had to start over once for the same reason. This is also why I've learned you should always make a back-up save outside the final dungeon.

  • not nearly as hard as lunar ... DAM last boss took me fuxking 4 long ass hours

  • @HikariKirameku Yeah the reason why my characters were weak is because i always retreated from battles that i encountered randomly because i wanted to finish the game only time when i actually fought men was if it was unretreatable lol

  • Maru alone can solo this boss, believe it or not. If everyone is against the wall he can't hit with the beam, and will just keep spawning mini brains.. Maru can shoot him from the sidelines with his normal attack provided he has the extended range bowstring. With light element, he can one-shot the minibrains as well.

If you don't have light based attacks, well.... be prepared to grind a LOT.

  • thenk you very mush.

  • @stefania12011998 Attack him when the black fog around him is completely gone (kill mini-brains to do this), you'll only do full damage then. Equip things that give you light-based attacks for better effect (also helps kill the mini-brains faster).
