"The goal of the Conveyor System Integration project by Ben Wenger and Francis Nevill is to allow a single user to operate every aspect of a conveyor system from a single workstation. The conveyor system that will be controlled is the one in room 148 of the BWD building at The Pennsylvania College of Technology. The workstation will consist of a windows PC running a Microsoft Visual Studio application, written using the C# programming language. Within this project there will be control of the conveyor belt motors, control of pneumatic stops and diverters, implementation of an RFID tag reader, implementation of light sensors and proximity sensors, implementation of a stepper motor controlled "pick and place" robot with a vacuum system for picking up items, object detection via camera, and an SQL database integration to store collected data. A PLC will be controlled wirelessly as well as variable frequency drives in order to control the system."
