Waste of time.
If this guy is Italian...
1) French is the apex of the Latin-based languages. (Not to say that Italian is not in the same league aesthetically.)
2) If Italians hate the French, it's just because we won't let you reign supreme in being the be-all-end-all of superior European culture. When it comes to wine, women, and song, you'd like to think you are the only ones on top, but you have to share it with the French. And it just pisses you off. (jk)
