The Kyoto Tachibana Senior High School Green Band performing a benefit concert for the Earthquake and Tsunami victims of Northern Japan inside the Performing Arts Center at John F. Kennedy High School, located in La Palma, California on Tuesday, January 3rd 2012. This is an incredible band and they put on a great show! During the time when the band performs to Alan Menken's Go the Distance (around the 1:02:52 mark), band members take turns and go thank their host families for opening their doors while on their Southern California Rose Parade trip. In total, there were 46 host families that opened their doors to these exceptional 131 Japanese students.

  • Thanks for sharing this and all your videos! My family has been a host family the last 2 years for the Green Band. We love being able to see the performances again. Such a tear-jerker when they come out into the audience to say goodbye! Tachibana Band are true entertainers!

Kyoto Tachibana was such an eye catcher in the Rose Parade...they were amazing when they did 'sing sing sing'....I wouldn't be able to do that w/ my Trombone x]. omg they are too good..can't stop watching the first 14 minutes. I don't know why i found it so adorable when they did L-O-V-E...amazing solo by the trumpet player :]!
