@oGClay nah he retierd in 2009 in a match in Pro Wrestling NOAH against Atoshi Siato idk if that's how you spell it or not he owns a steak house in Japan called Mr. Danger's idk if you knew about that or now

I have an *old* barbed wire bat match between him and Pogo on one of my tapes (I believe it was from Puerto Rico). Awesome, stiff, vicious match.

@eddydeez You're right, Matsunaga was one of the first guys to not do the "I cut you, you cut me, DDT/Powerbomb" styles of death matches. That and the guy was nuts.

Not to talk down on death match wrestling (Big Japan is currently my favorite promotion) but I think Matsunaga deserves why more credit than a lot of dudes. Where a lot of FMW guys were to beat up or just weren't good enough to stay employed with the bigger companies, and a lot of American guys probably wouldn't of done well in other styles (a lot of current BJW and CZW talent excluded), Matsunaga was highly sought after by shoot style promotion, but chose to go with death match wrestling.
