You are only partly correct. while onboard radar was new it still relied on at least the pilot being able to pick out the silhouette of the enemy aircraft out of the sky in the dark. The pilot also in most night fighters, was not looking at the radar but another crewman on board was telling him where to fly to find the target yet to shoot the target you did have to be able to see it.

All the recipes in this episode look awesome. Making the carrots into noodle shapes is an interesting idea for the salad. It's probably also a fun way to convince little ones to eat their veggies.
