Technologydude, you need to visit a real hifi audio store and hear speakers from Paradigm, Dynaudio, B&W, Focal, Wilson, Epos, or other high-end audio brands. I think you will have an epiphany about the staggering difference in sound quality. It's like comparing a 18MP Canon DSLR to a 2MP cell phone camera, or DVD to HD. The first time I went to a high end store my jaw hit the floor. It sounded beyond good, it sounded REAL. I walked out of the store with a new understanding of what hifi means.

The GMW (Google Money Whores) have disabled yet another audio track.

Not to mention having the audio completely muted by YouTube. LOL

Never heard of SLS so I checked them out.
Pretty interesting idea and their stuff reminded me of my old Monsoon PC Speakers. Those sounded nice, but I sold them to get the companion 3s.

JBL is a really good standered you allways know what your getting but as far as suround sound for the cash I like the SLS ribbon tweeter for home sound wear a long throw isen't needed also really good in reverbant room

I have Illusion Audio LM-804s and Silver Flute W20s that extend past 3kHz on-axis with zero break up modes before that point. But I guess you're an informed audio engineer - where were you for AES Spain?
Peace, go buy JBL or apparently build your own speakers.

pt 2 What's even worse is the poor choice of crossover frequencies: An 8" woofer (with a 6.375" effective operating diameter) should never be allowed to operate past 2kHz, and a 6.5" woofer should never go over 2.5kHz -- but Bose used a 3.5 to 4kHz crossover point with those tweeters, causing a suck-out in the upper midrange frequencies
Trying to get an audio impression of the BOSE from a recording is absolutely redundant. By the time the audio from the speakers is recorded and "reproduced" by the speakers on the other end, it would have been severely changed/degraded. They are NOT hearing what you are hearing. Imagine someone uploading a video of an HD picture from a 42" plasma onto YouTube trying to convince people how nice it looks... yeah... Kudos on the effort though =] seems you really enjoy them BOSE speakers.

I love my Bose. I just made this video so it sounded a little better because the Camera compression made them sound like crap.

Real audio, tube amps, or mosfet types, Bose is overrated, if you go to a store they put those tiny cubes by your ear, any speaker will sound good at the range. Like I said I had bose, and the are underwelming, a pair of athena's will blow them away, better specs, bose will not post because they are so inaccurate.

I don't have the cubes.
