sounds like gp2 car

V-TEC and all versions are made for high rev street engines, and doesn't have any effect on race type engines like this (HR10EG, 3.4 V8, 500bhp@10,300rpm-limited, Gear-driven DOHC)
It's engine that Honda using in Nippon formula, which is capable reach 16,000rpm and produce more than 650bhp, close to 700bhp.
Honda also producing 3.5 V8 NA engines for IRL.

True, I am sick of GT-Rs dominating Japan's Super GT scene, not that it is a bad car, it is just boring seeing GT-Rs lapping without real competition. with Lexus' new super car and Honda's new NSX, the Japan Super GT 500 will be very interesting in the years to come.

it really sounded more like a pure race engine than a production engine. a 3.4 v8, with very short stroke and over 12k rpm explains it all... thanks for your info.
-
which is going to be dang extremely expensive.
-
whatever that's under the hood, it doesn't sound like vtec anymore :) more like a F1 engine now......
-
this is actually the replacement for the NSX
-
Oh? I must have confused it with the Lexus's V10 engine sound. My apologies for my lack of knowledge. Thanks for correcting me.

i believe all F1 race cars are V8s
