A small treat, taken out of Part 1 of "Jane Eyre" (BBC 1973).

From chapter III of the novel - Morning. The nursery: Bessie (Brigid Erin Bates) and Mr. Lloyd (John Baddeley), at the fireplace; Jane (Juliet Waley), in bed, recovering from being unjustly locked the night before in the red-room.

  • One of the most beautiful traits of "Jane Eyre (1973)" is the warmth displayed by the actors and actresses on screen. The way John Baddeley ('Mr. Lloyd') asks Juliet Waley ('young Jane') "Well, who am I?..." is the first remarkable example of this warmth.

  • How nice, RNSpicey!

Of all Mr. Lloyds I have seen, he is the sweetest. What a pity the role was not larger.

  • John Baddeley is my grandpa!! I have made a picture montage about him: 'Double Take: The Launch'!

  • Aww, thank you, how kind! I think he enjoyed it anyway, even if it was a small role. He got on very well with the actress who played 'Young Jane' I believe! Apparently she is a doctor now!
