  • what are you using to stabalize that thing?

  • Armadillo mounted several small rocket engines on this rocket, and used their in-house designed control system to control the relative thrust of each engine to keep it stable. They are kind of programming wizards there; the guy who owns Armadillo is John Carmack, the same programmer who wrote Doom and Quake.

  • So basically Carmack is a smart kid who wanted his own spaceship, and he's building one? This is good stuff, Americans used to be known for this kind of innovation. How far exactly is Armadillo going to go with this? Is the goal something like low orbit hops for space tourism?
