  • U.S. Gold isn't defunct, they just renamed themselves in the mid 90's to Eidos.

  • @ScrewAttackEurope Ahhh. Information about U.S. Gold was very hard to find online. Thanks for watching my video, Guru Larry. :)

  • MR. Bigs henchmen

  • U.S. Gold was so-called because their main business was in porting hit games from the US to the UK market.

Sometimes, a game from the USA would already be widely available in the UK on the popular Sega & Nintendo systems, and in the arcades. But U.S. Gold would obtain a licence to port it to inferior systems that the owners just weren't otherwise interested in developing for.

For a channel called WeirdVideoGames, I politely demand that you check out their port of Street Fighter II to the C64.

  • Create Video, thanks a lot!

  • @WeirdVideoGames No problemmo :D It was a great review Sir! think they were called U.S. Gold was there was a big thing in the 80's that if something was American it was amazing. It was around the time that McDonalds, Burger King and KFC were appearing in large numbers too.
