After coming home from work, I took my Sony handicam to the Meramec River area near the intersection of Highway W and FF, which is a couple miles south of Eureka. The river is expected to crest at just about 42 feet sometime Sat. morning, March 22, 2008. For better quality versions:

  • lol, i live next to the maramec.... and i was in Florida at this time

  • Does anyone know if there is plans again to dam the Meramec River at hwy. 185 south of Sullivan? Or is it just a rumor?

  • that area is basically a river bed.

anyone who wants to live there can be my guest.

  • You did a great job filming this-my family has owned the property on this road for well over 40 years. Thanks so much for sharing!

  • 1:03

Second house from the left belongs to my family. We got five feet of water in the house...

  • im from the hazelwood area and the last bad flood we had was in '93. no offense, but i do feel that the urgency in which missouri got response almost the next day from an unexpected flood is amazing compared to 2 1/2 years down in new orleans from a known hurricane. most will argue that a hurricane is much worse than just flooding but i think you see my point...

  • Thanks for posting this. many happy memories of dry driving Rolla to St.L, the Meramec beauty never fades.

  • Thanks for the video, saved me a lot of time and gas to check it out. I took photos in that area during the 1982 floods. Looks the same, take god for video cams and cameras. Keep us updated.

  • Good job! Good quality... so much better than other video. Do you expect to film in Valley Park? right at the 141 bridge over the Meramec? PLEASE!! The networks haven't yet... you could trump them!

  • keep us all updated please news dont do a very good job
