Carolina Parakeets are extinct...
-
v=iklTV6Yl1uE Check out this at 1:11. Carolina Parakeet. They use to live as far North as Ohio until humans killed every last one. They were native to the U.S.

The problem with the pet trade is that birds have numerous names. The ornithological name for this species is Black-hooded Parakeet, Nandayus nenday. They're native to central South America but fairly common along the central Gulf coast of Florida, and less common along the southern Atlantic coast.

These parrots run like crazy near my apartment, they are fun to watch

It looks to me like they are black capped conures and they are adorable regardless! I have a Sunday Conure, and a B&G Macaw. I love the time and attention that I get from both.
Thank you for sharing that with all of us. Nothing like that here in WA. state, what a thrill to watch = ) and hope the person with that cough feels better soon too = )
