Some idiots, me and a friend, sort of put 110 volts through 250 feet of wire coiled around a horseshoe. The following video is the result.

  • well funny

  • lmao my electromagnet wire insulation melted to, but i was using a car battery

  • how powerful was it? before it started to smoke.

  • LOL! Wall outlet!

  • this isn't my video...i was replying to mariomario64 because i noticed they were using a wall outlet for power

  • Dear god, what did you THINK was going to happen when you short-circuted a wall outlet??? If you want to play with electromagnets, get a camping flashlight battery and some car audio amplifier power wire. By the way, don't use a horseshoe, use a solid galvanized steel rod. Also, for the love of god, stop doing this in your parent's house. They would be pretty pissed off if you burnt down their house, I would assume.

  • AC 110v

  • too much amperage! try high voltage instead! but safely.

  • jeez what did you use as a power source?

  • This is where resistors can be useful.. lol

Or perhaps a better wire with less meltable insulation and better heat capacity :P
