Heartless is told in first person narrative style with no words spoken on screen, instead propelled forward by an all-original soundtrack that acts as a second narrator. It documents our main character's life after a severe tragedy and walks us through his struggles to keep a semblance of reality while trying desperately to recall more pleasant memories from happier times. The directing, cinematography and editing style both mirror the frenetic emotional state of the main character.
