No, not really. That depends a lot on how long and how much you do this. These sounds are never advised to do extensively and constantly... we train it as an embelishment to use sometimes to benefit the art. Moderation is the key... we can never train distortion to be 100% healthy, but we can train it to be "healthier"... there will always be people that want this sound, so we have to be ready to help them and give them guidance. Telling someone "never" is not practical.
