dilema of animal x machine where is the spirit (soul) question??
uaw, not only history repeat itself in cycles but we the fallen mankind from God's grace continue be as stupid as we can be. The same thing over and over and over again.
The Truth is in the Holy Scriptures. It make sense, it answer the questions and CHANGE lives forever. Change that nobody can explain.
I don't understand why the whole talk is about animal x machine. You mentioned religion but don't touch the Truth that come from the Scriptures.
Men are made by God and is image of God. He has a spirit. Animals don't. Men fell from his original status and die spiritually so it became a producer of the deeds of flesh we know: homossexualim, pedophilia, adultery, murder, etc. It is funny that we didn't advance much further than Descartes playing with machines and breaking his head with the false
@moosh27 The problem with any sort of immigration reform is that there are political and economic elites on all sides of the political spectrum who benefit greatly from the current chaos and lack of enforcement. But I agree with your point about dismantling the welfare state, which, apart from its negative influence on the immigration issue, has been subsidizing (and thereby promoting) illegitimacy, personal failure, unemployment, poverty, and the destruction of the family for decades.
@TheOrthodoxSteven well put. But the more compassionate way of "fighting" the issue of illegal immigration is to remove the mandates on the states to provide illegals with welfare, free education, etc, which are the "magnets" for them wanting to sneak in. I believe we all have a moral obligation as individuals to help anyone in need. But when the state forces this via these magnets is when society as a whole is burdened with taking care of those who break the law.
I'm really curious to watch your follow-up videos on this topic...I think they will serve as great points of discussion (as nearly all of your videos do).
I've never heard of anyone in public office who's a more devout defender and advocate for the individual and civil liberties than Ron Paul. It's astounding how principled he is on the matter, and how he articulates the principles of human liberty in all he belives in and in his voting record. While your John McCain example is a good one, he fails the test on a grander scale with his support of personally intrusive legislation (Patriot Act) and pre-emptive wars (Vietnam, Korea, Iraq).
I do agree that too often immigrants who are here illegally are scapegoated in political discourse, particularly on the right, and that our application of the law ought to be tempered with mercy and compassion. But that doesn't mean we have a moral obligation to open our boarders and allow anyone to come who wants to. No nation on Earth, including Mexico, has this policy. If anyone bears a direct moral responsibility for the suffering and destitute Mexican people, it is their own government.
I have the sense that as these arguments get fleshed out, I will end up agreeing with you more than I do presently. I simply reject the idea that a concern for family and the future of civilization is somehow a mechanistic view of humanity or that such a concern is at odds with a moral vision of man as fully man. I also reject the idea that the Christian moral vision of the human person is at odds with a nation enforcing an immigration policy consistent with its own interests. (Cont...)

The only true choice that stands in front of each man is either to be with God, or not.

You've caught my ear with the problem and I am interested in the solution.
