What a legend this guy is! Good on him. It's true that this lifestyle is a personal choice and may not be for everyone. But what happens when that choice is taken away ie. when economies start falling over (like they are poised to do)? This lifestyle will be the only way to get by, and those who have criticised others in the past will struggle. It's funny how people "stereotype" these folk as hippies or nutjobs, but self-sufficiency can be rewarding and fun.

An amazing concept. I'd like to garden, keep chickens, and bees. I'm not sure if I'm responsible enough for goats... I love what they're doing but I see it as a little weird (just my upbringing I suppose). I actually like work (at least working for nice people) and socializing with people in the workplace. I'd do this, but modernize it. I've already created a floor plan for a 4 bedroom house using only 1125 sq feet. Like small, live modern, garden and farm (to an extent) and live well!

@Sharoney I was kind of thinking the same thing while watching the video. What kind of logic is it to embark on something that entirely depends of keeping your adult children there for free labor? What's going to happen if and when they decide they want to have lives of their own and move away?
