http://www.123rc.net - Hi everyone, here is my weekly thursday RC video! My own review of the V.I.O POV 1.5, split into multiple parts as its an extensive review.

The V.I.O POV 1.5 is a 720 x 480 Helmet camera designed for really rough and rugged use. So far, it looks and feels impressive, and picture quality indoors looks "ok'ish" but it should be much better outdoors, but I'll be taking it ot in the car, and to the flying field soon to test further.

Part 3 next thursday to give me time to play with it and take it out and about in the car and flying at the field to show you both its indoor and outdoor quality.

You can get this camera from: http://www.actioncameras.co.uk (flyfrenchgiraffe = 10% Discount)

  • Put it on the back of the wifes head lol

  • @harleygraffix lol, its easily possible with all the damn fittings it comes with, but dont count on getting any decent footage, its rubbish.... Take the £500 and spend it on a proper film crew instead.. I tested this thing in the summer, on bright days and it was shameful, and it was even worse indoors... I sold it and bought a Drift 170HD instead...

  • @123RCUK Wow I've been looking into their HD camera that should be shipping in Feb. I've heard so many good reviews I actually have the items in my cart and was about to buy it then I got your reply, hmmmm now I'm back at square one.

I'm looking for something that is weatherproof, rugged, Small and will allow a large card for recording, the hd model will allow up to a 32 gig card and has 1080p recording,

How do you like the Drift? have you had much test tome with it.

    Thanks.

  • @harleygraffix My very first Drift had a firmware problem, but HD quality was fantastic, I had to send it back to have the firmware fixed, and since then, super-duper! If you record in 720p, it goes wide angle to 170degrees too (hence its name), and, it weights the same or less than an average mobile phone, AND can charge froma mini USB socket too, so you can power it or charge it from the car if you dont buy any spare batteries...

Checkout the specs @ actioncameras.co.uk, its mega tuff...

  • @123RCUK - No probs... Sadly, the a LOT of RC stuff online is highly biased, so I got sick of it and thats why I do this, and why I started 123RC... Too many people chasing a few quid will say anything... Sell outs... I'd highly recommend the 170HD, lots of fittings possible, really lightweight, and the screen on it really helps line up shots, but its so light and "weatherproof", not sure if its waterproof though, I velcro mine to RC airplanes :-)

  • @123RCUK I'm going to look into that, I'm glad I found your non biased review before jumping into something I think I would have regretted.

And the Search continues lol. Thanks for the very insightful videos and replies,
