Level Design - China Streets

Check this for more pictures and videos.

This was a project for the Games Portfolio module at Bolton University. The only restrictions from the Brief was that the theme had to include evidence of Oriental and Temple elements.

I see myself working in the Games Industry after graduation in 2012. My preferred area of the industry is in Level Design but i am also passionate about the whole Games Design process.

If you have any questions about the video, University or anything else. Please contact me below or by email.

  • Overall level Design is good. You should focus on making your own custom meshes though, along with weapons etc.

  • @welge8 Thanks a lot, this video was posted a while ago now, i've since joined the online mod community to develop a game. You give some good advice which i will follow:)

  • hey man i really like ur beautiful twisted world, respect

btw did u ever get any work using udk?

ive been putting heart and soul into it,

but am really wondering if i'll ever get a job doing it, are ppl hiring in the industry?

  • @DAMN3DG3

Thanks very much DAMN3DG3. This works a little old now lol, i've been working on UDK for about 2 years now. I currently work for a company that is developing a survival horror game on the PC should be pretty cool!

i have no doubt that if you put as much effort as is needed to become a designer you will get your wish, the industry is currently on its way up (unlike many other industries).. there are a lot of small companies opening to work on IOS/ Android development which is good.

  • The Meshes come with the copy Unreal Tournament 3 (the UT3 editor, not the UDK) i believe they can be taken and put in the UDK if thats the engine you use?

  • Sure, No problem message me on here and ill try to help out. I'm more into the Crytek engine and UDK though. But quickly learning Source.

  • thx for the kind reply, hope you njoy your game, hope to see it soon

  • Honestly all this needs now is some background noise.

  • Really nice work!

Where did you get the meshes?

  • @reecyknnds

Yeah I will do, would be good if I could get in contact with you when your free some time to maybe help me out with some Source or UDK. I'm trying to learn UDK on my own at the moment but it's so different than source and it's kinda hard to get used to.
