Experimental tune playing about with my VSTi's which contain Arabic / Indian Instruments.

Also my first video I've put together without anybody's help!
Sorry Paulie, I don't need you anymore =p

If people comment I'll make some more video's, maybe even tutorials as to my playing and creation styles. I've composed over 320 Tracks and even more tracks are still unfinished "fun projects"

Hope you all enjoy it!

(P.S. Yes there is a glitch in the video around 1:50 - 1:51, It was probably me closing something in the background during the initial recording and it's skipped a few split seconds. Any future videos I'll take more care in making!)

  • the Tabla sounds out of tune. Remember Tabla sounds are customized to the scale being played

  • @2009Sajeev

Well I didn't know that the Tabla was customisable although I suppose I should have...

Thankyou for the information, I will remember it whenever using these type of instruments again.

  • please mail me to get into indian instrument in fl studio 10 thank u my e mail id is raaghums@yahoo.com

  • @1947rayjohn

Sorry I don't get what you're asking of me.

If you're asking me for my Virtual Instruments then, it's not going to happen.

Go buy them like I did.

The brand name for these 2 instruments is "Native Instruments" Colossus & Battery 3.

No idea what else you want from me. You have to be specific because I'm stupid :)

  • great video! thanks :)

  • @Ekmek90

    Thankyou.

I kept it minimal in this tune, Colossus is on its own channel with no effects.

Master channel has basic equalisation to lift the mids and highs for crispness.

in the "Ethnic Pitched -> Duduk" instrument I am using Colossus' Native Reverb with these settings:

    Size: 100

    Dampening: 0

Reverb Return: 0.1 db (or as close to 0 as you can get it without being Minus)

It sounds better using a MIDI keyboard with note velocity, this video I'm playing using the keyboard I type with.

  • @MusicalSamurai Thanks! It's clearly in the video haha. Sorry I didn't know what Battery was until a few days ago. I think SwarSystem's Swarplug has more realistic sitar and tabla (if you're interested). It's a bit pricey though if you don't plan on using it more than a few times.

  • @darkgandhi05a

All of the percussion sounds in that my friend were from

    Native Instruments Battery 3

You see it at the beginning with colourful pads, Each coloured pad is a WAV sample of various sounds in the particular grouped preset "North Indian Kit"

Which is what inspired me to call it Indian and not Arabic...

  • which percussion kit is that with all the cymbals? it's great.
