I'd think that as they shorted the original 1965 jingle by three notes, the logo was somehow sped up to match.

@LJK193 I don't know.I find it weird,but not scary.Maybe it's the animation of the rectangles,the dot in the middle popping out of no where and the letters SCREEN GEMS zooming at the screen.And the music.But there are scarier logos out there like the BBC one from the 90s and THX one.

@JohnnyL80 Those crickets were an interesting touch, though. Also of note is that the logo doesn't take up the whole screen like it used to.

As a kid it scared me. I'd have to pass by the living room to use the toilet at night and my Dad would be on the couch watching TV and this would come on and I'd run into his arms scared shitless. I can't figure out why. Don't even get me started on the Screen Gems "Dancing Sticks". I'd run to the bed and get under the covers with my older brothers. LOL!! They would c rack up laughing

This one makes me more lonely than scared. I was very young, maybe 5, when this came up, I find it comforting.

yep, b/c the 1st 2 seasons of The Partridge Family have this version of the S From Hell abridged music, w/ standard S from Hell logo.
This is also found on the last 2 seasons of "Bewitched" as well.

Thats just from the broadcast. The Station I recorded this from always has that interference sound in the backround
