This Sky Battle is a World War I flying aces game with two plastic bi-planes at each end of a curved board with a plastic frame illustrated with sky, clouds and trailing smoke.

Each plane is mounted on a a ball-bearing joystick style gun (with button on top,) which you use to shoot out the supporting struts underneath the wings of your opponents plane, causing it to go into a nosedive and lose the round.

Simple, addictive and with a surprising level of skill involved, Sky Battle remained a favorite toy for years since the planes and ball bearing guns would work just as well off the board.

  • So I WASN'T hallucinating, I actually DID get

this long-forgotten (by everyone but me that is) game for my 7th birthday... sadly long ago got thrown away, after me and my friends had thoroughly trashed it (our little hands were too small and weak to use the joysticks properly so we'd slap the fire buttons hard and fast as we could with one hand and try to move our plane with the other..!)

It's with a big lump in my throat and a

tear in my eye that I say to you, "Thanks"

    for posting this video.

  • I wish I had one that was already open so everyone could see how it's played. I did play with one back in the 70's, it was a lot of fun.

Not to many know of this game for some reason....we might be the only two on this earth that do...hahaha
