@Lllburns Newt doesn't own GE - but GE owned NBC. Tell Matt Lauer? I'm actually SHOCKED that Obama let some favored corporations NOT pay taxes when "there is SO much SUFFERING and HORROR" Maybe if he did the same for ALL corporations - who know, EQUALITY and shtuff - there wouldn't be SO much SUFFERING and HORROR because Govt wouldn't gobble up all the money AND people would have work. Yes?
Good job Newt! Get working people to go against their own best interests! You know about taxes: GE paid NO FEDERAL TAXES in 2010. ZERO! BofA also paid ZERO. Go Newt! Tell yourself "We can't afford ANYTHING--but tax cuts for the rich." Focus on helping America's wealthiest citizens. You're like a Christian---but all backwards! Interesting stuff, Newt! In WI they agreed to all the pay cuts, but we gotta cut ALL basic rights! Nice job! .
under the obama administration 95% of Americans received a tax cut, one of the largest cuts in u.s. history. its obvious that your misinformed, or profiting off of the misinformed. you people dont even know what you want. i bet your clinging onto your government income, while trying to denie the future generation of their fair share.
jar, all these things that you CLAIM you worked for would given to you at a highly subsidized rate (from your healthcare to your education and any and all loans you've taken out in your life--including credit cards). Int'l banks are not investing in you per se, but in the American market which is stagnating while the market in countries that happen to believe in reinvestment in their infrastructure are flourishing. If you weren't an American and likely to be bad at it, I'd ask you to do the math
jar, we DO NOT have the highest taxes in the world. We DO have the HIGHEST personal debt ratio in the world. Instead of other countries w/ HIGHER TAXES, were the govt pays for healthcare and tuition costs, the individual in America is left paying for those things and LO AND BEHOLD they are the top two reasons Americans file for bankruptcy. Our personal DEBT RATIO is the reason why intl banks would just as soon lend to a DEBT FREE Chinese citizen than a indebted American these days.
jar, so you worked for your own education, health, your cities infrastructure, you personally loaned your employer the subsidized business loan that got his/her business started. i don't think so. You rely on more govt spending in your day to day life than you'd be willing to admit. i'm not above admitting it. I live in one of the most expensive cities in this country and do just fine thank you. You look like you need someone to explain to you how our economy REALLY works.
We are among the highest taxed nation in the world. Taxes are not the answer. It may seem like an answer on the surface; but it's deceptive. Taxes can only come from productivity not the other way around. If the government would get out of our pockets and out of our business, we as a nation would do just fine. I pray the imbeciles in DC all get up and quit tomorrow. What a wonderful day that would be! ps. the gov't caused the financial meltdown with it's redistributaive policies.
who says I have to give up anything I worked for? you? I worked for everything I own, and never asked for anything but the right to be free and keep making personal progress. On the other hand it sounds like you may expect others to take care of you. That's a losing proposition.
