Tonight we take a trip back through time to when things were simpler and seemingly more elegant. I present to you my 1955 Kodak Brownie Model 1 8mm movie projector. Soon after I acquired this beautiful little time machine I began bidding on vintage 8mm films on eBay and tonight I present some clips from both for your viewing pleasure. First is a rare little gem from Castle Films, #616 (Part 2 of the 8-part "Three Little Bruins" series) called "Three Little Bruins Make Mischief". Bear cubs are turned loose on a farm. Originally filmed by Paramount under the title "Breezy Little Bears".
The second installment is a much sadder one. Blackhawk Films #810-234, a thoughtfully remastered 8mm version of Keystone Film's 1915 production "Mabel and Fatty at the 1915 San Franciso World's Fair". Lots of history here my friends. Watch, listen, learn, and most of all enjoy ;)
Music for this production was respectably and non-profitably used and honored with what turned out to be 8 straight hours of making credits for the end of the video.
In audible order we have the legendary John Harrison, composer for the soundtrack of the famous cult classic horror movie "Creepshow" among many other very genre-influencing films.
Next is the truly under-appreciated Kevin Manthei, highly respected and reknowned composer for the 12th century levels of White Wolf's 1999 Blockbuster PC game "Vampire The Masquerade: Redemption" as well as parts of the "Resident Evil" soundtrack and other very well known motion pictures.
Finally, we have masters of music in their purest form with Tangerine Dream's little known/heard score for the 1983 movie "Wavelength", distributed by New World Pictures by written and directed by indepedent filmmaker Mike Grey. This movie was a childhood favorite of mine that has left images with me through the years and is still one of my favorite all time titles.
Enjoy.... ;)

  • odlichno!!!!! moze li se znati shta koristish,a mislim da znam, adobe ??!!!

  • Hvala LittleSerbiaG! ;)

Ja ne razume Srpski dobro, forgive me.

But to answer your question.. I use Corel VideoStudio Pro X2 and Pinnacle Studio Ultimate. I like "building" the video with Corel because it is fast and efficient at doing just that (cutting and arranging segments of video), as well as the groundwork for the title sequence at the end (I usually spend more time doing this than the video itself!). After one rendering I then use Pinnacle to "polish" it up. Nice to meet you btw! :)

  • I like that you've taken the sensations you feel towards this projector and expressed them so vividly with good camera play and musical scoring. I often allow myself to daydream when studying an object or absorbing a place, and I try to set a theme to the moment, and distill all of the emotion and sensation that I felt, so that I may later turn it into some sort of artistic expression. It looks like you have done that very well here, good job!

  • ive found your channel name on 999cryptic vid and i decided to take a look...and im happy i done it!this films are amazing "time machines" like you called it! cheers

  • Would you happen to know anything about the Kodak Brownie 8 Movie Projector: Model A-15? I got one a couple days ago and the knob to turn it on is stuck :(

  • A phenomenal amount of work represented in this piece. Very nicely done. You're right, some of the footage (the convict ship, etc) was pretty heavy. Great work on this.

  • Great movie with superb soundtrack!

A little alienating it feels to me. To watch such a basic experience like 8mm movies in a home "cinema" with such a wonderful projector on a laptop screen.

Personally i still like watching my slides with a projector. Nothing beats that. I like that in fact, what i am looking at is pure light. Plus the quality is still unbeaten.

  • Takes you back in time...really interesting.I can understand your fascination for this stuff!:)

  • great stuff ...totally enjoyed...excellent video!!

  • very cool! ..Bill
