Faced with the lack of infrastructure and secondary school attendance, the "street library" project is proposed to help promote the "discovery" of reading.
The "street library" consists of moving from village to village in order to meet people who have limited access to books. The library is mobile and accessible to all. The "street library" is built with pitching a tent, lay some carpets on the floor and have a collection of books at disposal for display. A stand is established to promote the library and literacy in general. This stand provide people with vital information concerning English learning and reading courses, as well as schooling possibilities.
Children and adults are invited to meet under the tent to read individually or to listen to a reading. The books is not available for loans. Additionally, the "street library" proposes more than reading; for example writing competitions will be organised as an extension of this work. Volunteers are the driving force for this project.
