The long winter is over: IT'S SPRING!!! Spring means exiting smells and delicious green grass, a new adventure every time the humans move the cage...

With the words of the song: "Summer, we have been waiting for you, and now you are here. We have been longing so much for you..."

I shot this video with one hand, so some things may look strange. (Sorry, no extra cameraman available!) And yes, Snövit (=Snow White) really burns the skin on her ears if I don't put sun cream on them at first... The plastic on two sides of the cage is protection from the wind, because we live by the sea.

  • people i want u to watch ur pigs with grass mine got very sick and died from grass

  • Poor guinapigs! How come they died? Did you give them lots of grass without getting them used to it first? Before mine get to go out and eat all the grass they want, they get used to smaller amouts, more and more every day for like at least a month! And they always have hay to eat as well in the outside cage if they stay there for more than an hour. Good thing you commented the video in case not all guineapig owners know that!

  • yeah mine dont go out till its 30C out cause i read they need 70-80F for there perfect temp. mine in the winter in his jumbo cage i bought has toys and a heating blanket for him...then he runs around on a special waterproof blanky for the couch till summer.

if urs likes the cold then go for it.

  • 80F is only 26 C. I read they should have 15-22 Celsius (= 69-72 F). Confusing, but maybe Nordic g-pigs are tougher... But they have to be protected from draught and cold/damp ground. Waterproof blanket in winter sounds like great idea :)

  • 15 degrees celcius is still kinda cold :s

  • Inside they do fine in that temperature. Outside is a bit different: wind and maybe cold ground makes it more risky for them: I get mine used to 15 degrees inside first, then I put them outside for like an hour the first time and let them get used to it slowly. All the time they have a possibility to go inside the well isolated little house where they can get warm if needed. If your guina-pigs are used to 20 degrees you can't just put them out without shelter. They would catch their death.

  • adorable!

  • your guinea pigs are lovely

  • Your guinea pigs have a wonderful home and excellent environment to play in they're very lucky! :)

  • mine died for no reason, or i dont what was wrong, he was only 1½ year old, and very thin before he died ;(

  • @Amy199able i think she lives in Sweden, the song is Swedish ;p in Sweden (and Norway and the other countries in scandinavia) we have cold winters brrrrr..... (:

  • @halolover1998 the only way a guinea pig could die from eating grass which is btw not possible is if you had sprayed it with a poisen to kill weeds or it ate something else then just the grass like a poisenous plant

  • When I was younger and had guinea pigs they were the happiest outside and loved the munch on the clovers. Makes me wish i could have guinea pigs now.

  • @halolover1998 did your grass have ferterliser or something on it? because if it dose they will die from eating that i havent experinced it but the info books that i have do.

  • lmao sun cream hahahh xD

  • snovit didn't budge at all when u put his suncream on-true guini bond unlike my guini pigs i spend evry day with them and they r scared to death i've had them yrs
