Solarant-you'v been back once in 15 years, and you can make a coment like that? Try spending some time there, get to know the poeple - enjoy the vibe of the town. I grew up there, left 12 years ago, but go back every 6 weeks or so. Every place in Ireland, or anywhere else for that matter, has its good and bad points, but on the whole, Sligo is a great town, with totally genunine, fantastic people, surrounding scenery that is unparralleled.
Spend some qt there-you'll find its not so bad a place.

and the reason its damp on the vid is because it must have been December because the christmas lights are up.

the town itself maybe a bit lacking some soul but if you leave the town for about 2 minutes drive you can see one of the best scenic places you can see in the world. I don't know but Sligo could be the best town in Ireland :P

I agre I left sligo 15 years ago when I was 40 and I have been back once since, nothing changed the drunks still rule the streets at night the streets are strewed with litter, the people live in a time warp and have no sense of the outside world, murders go unsolved and drug dealers sell their wares with impunity.
