Well when I was younger I was more of a Sonic fan, only having played Mario 64 and the old Mario games on the Gameboy. I have only played a bit of the original SMG so I can't really comment on how good or bad it was. However looking at the clips that were shown I have to grudgingly admit that Nintendo know what they're doing by realising a proper Mario game every few years rather than one every year, something I feel has been the main problem with Sonic. No time to develope the game.
